OUR MISSION
Access Family Services believes that all forms of violence and abuse are intolerable. Our mission is to change attitudes about violence and abuse held by individuals, institutions, and the community at large. This will be accomplished through the provision of comprehensive direct services to survivors of domestic violence and their families, community education and prevention programs, advocacy, and batterer’s intervention services.
OUR VISION
AFS is dedicated to the prevention of domestic violence in Essex County, NJ, and the surrounding areas.
AFS endeavors to empower battered women to make their own decisions and help them recognize that they are not responsible for the abuser's behavior. Violent persons must take responsibility to change their own behavior.
It is our vision to stop the inter-generational transfer of learned violent behavior by assisting victims, providing intervention services to batterers and educating the community.
