Access Family Services offers emergency residential services for victims of domestic violence through the operation of Sylvia’s Place (Emergency Shelter). Women and children who enter our shelter are in crisis and need immediate services and attention. The shelter provides a wrap-around service to the victims and their children, provides a safe environment, and connects them to the proper referrals and community linkage services needed to ensure their safety. Our shelter offers a safe haven for up to 15 women and children living in family-sized bedrooms in a confidential location in Essex County NJ. Victims may stay in the shelter for up to 60 – 90 days with the possibility of an extension based on individual circumstances.
